Questions
What is VS2.0 | Next Generation?
VS2.0 | Next Generation is a capital vision project that seeks pledged donations from the people of our congregation to be contributed over a three-year period, separate from our General Operating Fund.
Why is the VS2.0 project necessary?
As God's purpose for us matures, and the calling for this next phase clarifies, we must refresh and adapt. We have several critical financial and structural issues to address in order to ensure we are well prepared for the next phase of our ministry. VS2.0 is a comprehensive plan to address these issues by building upon our rich history in order to create sustainable ministry effectiveness for the next generation.
What happens if we don't raise $2,000,000?
If we are unable to raise $2,000,000 over three years, we will not be able to move forward with new ministry and strategic outreach initiatives as quickly as we would like. The first $600,000, to be raised before September 2013, will go toward paying down principal on our building loan.
What happens if we raise more than $2,000,000?
Any additional money raised beyond $2,000,000 will go toward paying down additional principal on our building loan. By paying down additional principal, we can allocate more of our General Fund toward funding ministry, rather than paying our loan.
How may I prepare to participate?
Allow God to speak to your heart through prayer. Read Scripture passages that speak about stewardship and giving: Psalm 49; Psalm 116:12-14; Proverbs 3:5-9; Luke 12:13-21; Luke 16:1-13; Acts 20:35; 1 Corinthians 16:1-3; 2 Corinthians 8 and 9; 1 Timothy 6:6-10; and James 2:14-17.
